Alice Clementine Snook Hedrick passed away on Monday, June 5th peacefully at her home surrounded by family and friends.  She was 97 years young.  She was born on January 9, 1926, to Glenn Harvey Snook and Helen Ruth Tharp Snook.  Alice was raised in the Medford/Wakita area and graduated from Medford High School in the spring of 1944.  On October 9, 1945, in Livermore, California, she married the love of her life, Thomas Richard Hedrick.   Together they raised three children in Blackwell, William Walter “Bill”, Merri Helen and Tina Rae.  Alice attended college at NOC of Tonkawa and OSU of Stillwater where she graduated with honors earning her Master’s degree.

After completing her education, she taught at Friends University in Wichita, KS as a professor of home economics.  After four years of teaching, she decided to be a stay-at-home mother and caretaker for her youngest daughter Tina Rae who had special needs.  She operated an in-home daycare and helped raise many children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She was a wonderful seamstress who took great pride in sewing competitive twirling costumes for her granddaughter Amanda, gorgeous dresses for the great grand girls, and a western suit for her husband TR.  She was a great cook and kept a neat tidy home.  She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.  She also enjoyed playing cards including Rummy and Pinochle. Alice enjoyed glamour and was once told she should be driven around in a limousine with her husband the driver.  She was the go-to gal for beautiful jewelry and shoes and was always the last stop for all the girls before heading off to dances and proms.  She was dearly loved and made impact on everyone she encountered.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, a brother, her husband TR, son Bill, and daughter Tina.

She leaves behind to mourn her loss daughter Merri Stafford, son-in-law Butch Stafford, daughter-in-law Grace, grandchildren: Adrianne, Thomas, Nichole and significant other Brian, Dakota, Wade and his wife Zena, Amanda and her husband Mark, Marti and her husband Brent.  Great grandchildren, Jade Bourne and her husband Raymond, Christina Kloxin, Kacee Kloxin, Jace Stafford, Sydney Evans, Gavin Houska, Emily McConnell, Rylee Jo Houska, and Myah McConnell.  Great-great grandchildren: Cruz, Presely, Linkin, Gryffin, and Isadora as well as Her friend and caregiver Shirley.
