Carolyn Vester

Carolyn Ann Vester, 65, of Perry, Oklahoma was born to Robert and Elizabeth Copeland Atkinson on October 28, 1947 in Perry, Oklahoma. She was called home by her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in Enid, Oklahoma. Carolyn moved to Wichita, Kansas from Perry, Oklahoma as a child where she attended school and graduated from Southeast High School in 1966. She later returned to Perry in 1969 where she met her sweetheart and best friend, Bennie Vester Jr.. They were married on April 6, 1989 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. From that union three children were born Marcie Vester, Denise Vester and Dion Vester. She was a faithful employee at Ditch Witch for many years and later ending her work career at Green Valley Nursing Home as a nurses aide. Carolyn was an active member of Mt. Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Her hobbies included bingo, slot machines but most of all spending time with her grand kids. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Perry, Oklahoma. Rev. Magnus Scott will officiate and be assisted by Rev. Willie Anderson and Elder Johnson. Interment will be at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory, her three children, Marcie, Denise, and Dion her brothers and sisters, Isaac, Edna, Edward Lee, Beverly, Robert, Kenneth Ray, Wanda, Ivan, Marketta and Tisa. Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband Bennie Vester Jr. her father, Robert Atkinson Sr. mother, Elizabeth Atkinson her twin sister Barbara and baby brother Travis Peewee Atkinson.
