Christine Ione Kroll, 82, of Garber, Oklahoma was born west of Shidler, Oklahoma on August 27, 1927 to Thomas Clayton and Pearl Handly Head. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 30, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma. Christine grew up in the Sinclair Oil Field at Carter Nine until moving to Garber. She graduated from Garber High School in 1945. Elmer Kroll and Christine Head were married March 9, 1947 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Garber, Oklahoma. She was a farmer's wife and fed many local boys who worked for them over the years. Christine enjoyed working in her church, Immanuel Lutheran of Garber. She was a charter member of the Nuway Club and was part of their traveling kitchen band. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Garber, Oklahoma. Pastor Joseph Myers will officiate. Interment will be in the Garber Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home of Garber. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church in care of Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Garber, Oklahoma 73738. Christine is survived by her husband, Elmer, of the home; daughter, Kathy Miller and her husband, Bob, of Garber, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Rita Kroll, of Garber, Oklahoma; her loving grandchildren, Jodi Sadler and her husband, Philip, Steven Kroll and his wife, Toni, Christopher Kroll, Kyle Miller, Amy Bruno and her husband, Tim, and Todd Miller; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Ryan, Megan, Jenna, Paige, Alec, Kinley, Rudi, and Mattie; and one brother, Tom Head, of Grainola, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Rudy, and precious granddaughter, Nancy Miller; two sisters, Doreen Walker and Georgia Head; and two brothers, Bud Head and Bill Head.
