Claudia June Gatewood Pannell, graced this world with her presence on May 22, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She departed from this earthly realm on February 29, 2024, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was surrounded by her family when she gently passed out of this world and jumped into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Described as full of love, warm, kind-hearted, open-minded, and compassionate towards others, Claudia touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of generosity and positivity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. She enjoyed assisting start-up entrepreneurs through her role as a business advisor for the Oklahoma Small Development Center. Her efforts garnered her the award of Oklahoma’s SBDC State Star for 2023. Those skills were honed over 15 years spent as an IT manager for Abbott Labs in Abbott Park, Illinois and advising businesses at the College of Lake County, Grayslake, Illinois.
Mourning her loss and cherishing her memory are her surviving family members: husband of 53 years Larry R. Pannell; devoted daughter Jennifer Rosenboom and son-in-law Chad; cherished grandchildren Austin Siegfried, Cody Siegfried, Jena Siegfried; Colin Rosenboom; adored great-grandson Tanner Siegfried; sister Donna Kirk and brother-in-law Melvin; nephew Howard Kirk and wife Courtney; nephew Robert Kirk and wife Karrie; sister-in-law Janell McCormack and niece Sara McCormack.
Claudia was greeted in the afterlife by her dear departed father Claude Howard Gatewood and mother Velma Udell Van Devender Gatewood. Their spirits reunite as Claudia's light continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those she left behind.
Claudia's life will be celebrated at a "Celebration of Life" viewing to be held on March 5, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home located at 1010 N 7th St, Perry, OK 73077. The service will be a testament to the love and kindness that radiated from Claudia throughout her life.
In honoring Claudia June Pannell's life, let us remember her for the love she shared unconditionally and the kindness she bestowed upon everyone around her. Her memory will forever remain a beacon of warmth and compassion for all who knew her.
