Claudine (Deanie) Conway, age 84, of Perry, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, August 03, 2016 at her home in Perry, Oklahoma.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Grace Hill Cemetery Pavilion with the Pastor Kim Hays of the First Baptist Church officiating under the direction of the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.
Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 4, 2016 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Friends may leave online condolences at www.brown-duggerfuneralhome.com.
The family has suggested memorials to the Companion Health Care or the First Baptist Church and contributions may be left at the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.
Claudine (Deanie) Conway and her twin Claude were born November 24, 1931 in Commerce, Oklahoma to William Oscar and Ida Florence (Manning) Cramer. As a young girl she worked at the coffee cup café at the age of twelve after completing the 8th grade.
She married John Harvey Hopper in 1948, to that union three boys were born, Mike, Rick and Johnny. While the children were growing up, she was a stay at home mom that took in ironing and cleaned houses to help with living expenses. Later she went to work as a surgical nurse at Pawnee Hospital and later worked at the Piggly Wiggly. In 1976 She married Gilbert Conway in Perry, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Claudine was a member of the First Baptist Church of Perry, Oklahoma. She was a strong Christian woman that prayed daily for her family and friends. She had read through her bible 19 times, she loved to sew and do crossword puzzles. Claudine was well known for "Ham Salad". She was a soft spoken lady with a kind heart but wouldn't hesitate to make you go and cut your own switch! You always knew where you stood with Claudine.
She was preceded in death by her parents William Oscar and Ida Florence, her twin brother Claude, husbands John Hopper and Gilbert Conway, 8 brothers, 14 sisters, one son Rick Hopper, one granddaughter and two grandsons.
Survivors include two sons and their wives Mike and Penny Hopper of Prim, Arkansas, Johnny and Kris Hopper of Perry, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law Paula Hopper of Glencoe, Oklahoma; she was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, one brother John Cramer, plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and a special Angel Hospice Nurse Torrie Halbert.
Casketbearers will be Jeffry Hopper, Joel Hopper, Virgil Biggs, John Gray, Charles Touchstone and Justin Touchstone. Honorary Casketbearers will be Allen Wheeler and David Shaver.
