Clyde Wayne Melton, 70, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of Julian C. and Mandy Treece Melton. He was born on June 24, 1942 in Hominy, Oklahoma and died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at his residence in Perry, Oklahoma. Clyde served his country in the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge in 1963. He attended school at Okmulgee Tech and received his associates degree in electronics. Clyde then went to work at Wiley Post for Air Commander. Clyde married his friend and sweetheart Kathy L. Layton on April 13, 2000 in Cushing, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Oklahoma Wood Carvers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Walnut Valley Wood Carvers of Ark City, Kansas. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2013 at the BrownDugger Funeral Home Chapel, in Perry, Oklahoma. Brother Aaron Summers will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Clyde is survived by his wife, Kathy of the home, two daughters, Teresa Bashaw and her husband, Danny of Moore, Oklahoma, Lori Dunkerson and her husband, Jim of Booneville, Missouri two stepsons, Wesley Layton and his wife, Elizabeth of Perry, Oklahoma, Larry Layton and his wife, Belinda of Stillwater, Oklahoma one stepdaughter, Desarea Thurston and her husband, Scott of Yukon, Oklahoma one brother, Ronald Melton and his wife, Cora of Luther, Oklahoma nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Mandy Melton three brothers, John Melton, Bill Melton and L.D. Melton two sisters, Thelma Winters and Martha Ritter.
