David Leon Perkins, born on January 5, 1956, in Perry, Oklahoma, passed away on August 18, 2025, at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A devoted family man, David is remembered for his kind spirit, strong work ethic, and loyalty to those he loved.

David served his country honorably, joining the U.S. Air Force on September 24, 1974, and later transitioning to the U.S. Army. Throughout his military career, he was awarded numerous accolades, including the Southwest Asia Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal with two bronze service stars, and several other commendations that reflect his dedication and skill. He completed his active duty on August 17, 1978, and continued to embody the values of service and commitment throughout his life.

He was a proud alumnus of Comanche High School, and his education laid a foundation for a life characterized by diligence and integrity.

Outside of work, David found joy in a variety of hobbies. He enjoyed fishing, often recounting a humorous story about a time when he faced the alarming prospect of a small boat nearly sinking with him aboard. He also fished from his kayak, embraced hunting, and had a passion for reading, particularly the works of Stephen King and the "Game of Thrones" series, as well as science fiction.

David is survived by his daughter, Brittany, and her husband Cody Perkins of Duncan, Oklahoma; son David Leon Perkins !! of Comanche, his brother Johnny Perkins and his wife from Arizona; his sister Rosemary Younts of Duncan, Oklahoma; and his sister Trudy Rhodes of Edmond, Oklahoma. He took great pride in his grandchildren, Isaac Willis, Ellijah Willis, James Perkins, and Christina Perkins, all from Duncan, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who cherished their time with him.

David was preceded in death by his parents, John Perkins and Neoma Ruth Monroe Perkins, as well as his son, Andrew Lee Perkins.
