Donald Elmer Cole, 73, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of Elmer Cole and Nan Johnston Briegge. He was born on February 15, 1937 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma and died Friday, February 11, 2011 at the VA Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where, to remain with his beloved family, he fought the fight of a true hero. On November 24, 1971, Donald married Jana Elaine Stubbs in Del City, Oklahoma. Donald was a resident of Oklahoma when he enlisted in the United States Army in 1958. He served his country for three years and was honorably discharged in 1961. He was a plumber, biker, and the owner of the former Kit Kat Club on 29th and Newcastle, and Spankys on SW 44th and Penn. Donald enjoyed tinkering with things, gambling, fishing and watching football, basketball and baseball. Donald especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Christ Lutheran Church. Rev. William Metz will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Donald is survived by his wife of forty years, Jana Cole one daughter, Kelley Cole of Perry, Oklahoma three sons, James Cole of Leesburg, Florida, Michael Cole of Edmond, Oklahoma and Mark Cole of Weatherford, Oklahoma five grandchildren, Josh Cole, Rae Dawn Cole, Kasandra Hasenfratz and Kate Cole, all of Perry, Oklahoma and Jayci Cole of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma six nieces and nephews, Tonya Dolezal and Theresa Austell, both of Perry, Oklahoma, John Black and Kyle Black, both of Enid, Oklahoma and Kim Cole and Kenny Cole, both of Mississippi. He was preceded in death by one son, Donald Harris Cole his parents, Elmer Cole and Nan Briegge stepfather, Adolph Briegge one sister, Beverly Ann Brown and one brother, Kenneth Cole.
