Perry

Edward Joseph Lee Appelbaum left this life on December 27, 2023.  He was born February 23, 1940, in Perry, OK.  His parents, now deceased, were George and Cecilia Appelbaum.  His sister, Dorothy Applebaum also predeceased him.   He is survived by his sister, Mary R. Grace, and her significant other, Eric J. Groves, both of Oklahoma City.

Edward Attended and left Perry high School in 1959.   Shortly thereafter he enlisted in the U.A. Navy where he served for six years, primarily in Pensacola, Florida.  After his military service he attended Okmulgee Technical School where he received training in engine mechanics.  This was followed by a number of years traveling the U.S. and working along the way.  He eventually returned to Perry and was employed at the Ditch Witch plant where he worked until his retirement.  He was a m ember of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

He most enjoyed woodworking at home and drives through the countryside with his little dog, Taley.  Much of his extra time was spent watching the history channel and sporting events on television.  The family asks that memorial donations be made in his name to the International Dyslexia Association in Pikesville, MD.
