Effie Welch

Lifetime Perry resident, Effie Marie Welch was born December 23, 1937 in Perry, Oklahoma to Ralph and Abidail Ustler VanHoesen. She passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Stillwater Medical Center at the age of 76 years old, surrounded by her family. On March 4, 1972, Effie was united in marriage to Jim Welch in Perry. Effie worked for and later retired from the Noble County Assessors Office and Noble County Sherriffs Department where she was a deputy dispatcher. Effie and Jim are members of the First Presbyterian Church in Perry. She was also a member of the Perrys Elks Lodge. Effie enjoyed bowling, playing cards, doing crosswords and other word games, watching Wheel of Fortune and Days of our lives, Facebooking, and trying out new recipes on Jim. Effie adored her grandchildren she loved attending all their sporting and Ag events and cheering them on. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family more than anything. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Effie is survived by her husband, Jim Welch of the home two sons, Jerry Bocox and his wife, Cindy of Perry and Bill Bocox and his wife, Shannon of Perry six daughter, Carrie Ewy and her husband, Mike of Perry, Tina Will and her husband, Doug of Morrison, Glenda Hulet and Husband, Dana of Perry, Sheila Ennis of Oklahoma City, Connie Wilson of Fairfax, and Laurie Holtgrewe of Osceola, Missouri two sisters, Mable Hughes and Juanita Bounds both of Perry 16 grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren and greatgreat grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Roy and Chet VanHoesen. Memorial Services will be 2pm, Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Presbyterian Church in Perry with Marilyn Weathers officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th, Perry, OK 73077.
