Emile Cecile Kennedy, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2024, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Emile was born on December 5, 1956, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Eugenia (Williams) Chance and James Chance.
Emile's life was filled with love and dedication to her family and community. She graduated from Okmulgee High School in the spring of 1975. She married the love of her life, Robert Kennedy on August 8, 1975 and went to work alongside him as the owner operator at Kennedy's Hardware in Perry, OK. She was known for her kind and loving nature, always putting others before herself.
One of Emile's proudest accomplishments was being an excellent grandmother to her grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them and always made sure they felt loved and valued. Emile had a special place in her heart for the ocean, animals, and of course, her beloved grandkids.
Family meant everything to Emile. She is survived by her husband Robert Kennedy of the home, son James Kennedy and his wife Timory of Perry, granddaughter Alley Kennedy, and grandson Jett Kennedy, and sister Jimmalee Veal of Broken Arrow.
Emile was preceded in death by her daughter Crystal Kennedy, mother Eugenia (Williams) Chance and father James Chance.
Emile will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on through all those whose lives she touched.
A visitation will be held on May 7th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry. The funeral service will take place on May 8th at 10:00 AM at First Christian Church in Perry followed by interment at Grace Hill Cemetery pavilion. Reverend Joshua Bell will officiate.
Emile will forever remain in our hearts as a beacon of love and kindness. May she rest in peace knowing she was deeply loved and cherished by all who knew her.
