Eugene Thompson

Eugene Carlton Thompson, 81, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of James Thompson and Elva Musick Thompson. He was born May 24, 1928 in Red Rock, Oklahoma and died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 in Perry, Oklahoma. He married Bonnie Jean Shultz on April 15, 1948 in Marland, Oklahoma. Gene was a member of the First Christian Church, Paradise Cove at Lake Carl Blackwell and the Marland Round Up Club. He retired from the State Highway Department, ODOT Division 4. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, traveling, hunting, fishing and especially loved being at Paradise Cove. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Red Rock Cemetery. Rev. Martin Foster will officiate. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 2010 at BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart Division or the First Christian Church in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Gene is survived by his wife, Bonnie Jean Thompson of Perry, Oklahoma three sons, Rick Thompson, and his wife Rose, of Thomas, Oklahoma, Carl Thompson, and his wife Sheila, of Meridian, Idaho, and Mark Thompson of Perry, Oklahoma one daughter, Sue Schmitz, and her husband Jerry, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma five sisters, Melva Edgar and her husband Earl, Donna King and her husband Earl, Lila Bay and her husband Raymond, Darlene Lumbers and her husband Bob and Glenda Buchanan and her husband Bob, all of Perry, Oklahoma five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Dorsie Beier and Virginia Tucker, two brothers, Orin and Little Pat Thompson, one infant sister.
