Iva Henke

Iva Henke (Garrett), age 86, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Born on January 29, 1939, In Oklahoma, Iva spent her entire life rooted in the countryside she loved so dearly.

Iva was preceded in death by her loving parents, Delbert and Arelia Garrett, her beloved sister, Leona Grim, and her husband Bennie Henke whom she shared a remarkable 59-year marriage with. Together, they built a life centered around family and farming-raising cattle and embracing the rhythms of rural living. Iva cherished the farm life and remained devoted to it throughout her years.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Teri and son-in-law Edwin Debord; grandchildren Shaun Gibson and his wife Kristin, Jillian Gibson, and Cristopher Gibson; and great-grandchildren Jayden Gibson, Arelia Gibson, Anson Gibson, Tatum Gibson, and Emmaline Sternberger. Iva never missed an opportunity to share stories about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren-her pride in them was boundless.

A woman of deep faith, Iva loved Jesus with all her heart. Her days were filled with simple joys: sewing intricate patterns with care, immersing herself in books and crossword puzzles, shopping trips with her sisters Dolly and Leona, and lively conversations with family. She also had a fondness for Elvis Presley’s music-a soundtrack that often accompanied moments of joy in her home.

Iva’s legacy is one of devotion to her family, to her faith, and to the land she called home. She passed quietly and in the arms of the Lord.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

Iva wished to be cremated and we have carried out those wishes.
