Jackie Sandy was born in Columbiana, Alabama on March 20, 1935 to John and Loise Chapel Boaz. She departed this life on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated high school in Columbiana, Alabama. While in Alabama, Jackie worked at an elastic plant. She also owned and operated a green house with her sister Margaret in Columbiana. In 1976 Jackie moved to Perry, Oklahoma. She was employed at Ditch Witch for 13 years as an analyst. Jackie married Gayland Sandy on December 18, 1977 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Perry, Oklahoma and a charter member of the Nazarene Church in Columbiana, Alabama. Jackie was very active in the church. She was a member of Hope Circle, the fund raising committee, and chairman of the evangelism committee. Jackie enjoyed cooking for family and the church, fishing, taking her grandkids on vacation, reading, and going to the lake. She especially like going to the casino and playing the slot machines. She loved spending time with her family. Jackie will be missed by all that loved and knew her. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 3, 2014 at the First Christian Church in Perry, Oklahoma with Reverend Martin Foster officiating. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at BrownDugger Funeral Home from 6:00p.m.8:00p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Jude in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Jackie is survived by her husband, Gayland Sandy of the home two daughters, Cynthia Williams and her husband, Jay of Perry, Oklahoma, and Tina Hardy of Stillwater, Oklahoma two stepdaughters, Marsha Epperson and Kym Payne and her husband, Mark all of Stillwater, Oklahoma one stepson, Brett Sandy and his wife, Valerie of Perry, Oklahoma one brother, John Boaz and his wife, Lorene of Centerville, Alabama one sister, Faye Fredrick and her husband, Willard of Columbiana, Alabama one brotherinlaw, WC Green of Nashville, Tennessee 18 grandchildren, numerous greatgrandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents one grandson, Jared Allen one brother, Bob Boaz and two sisters, Billie Jo Green, and Margaret Walden.
