James Jim Byon Postier, 71, of Covington, Oklahoma, was the son of Fritz Donald and Velma Viona Work Postier. He was born on March 5, 1941 in Covington, Oklahoma and died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at St. Marys Medical Center in Enid, Oklahoma. Jim married his best friend and sweetheart, Linda Mae Telinde on July 12, 1959 in Enid, Oklahoma. He was the former Mayor of Covington, Oklahoma serving over five years in this position. Jim was active in the CovingtonDouglas Booster Club, Lions Club and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He enjoyed sporting events and guns but most of all he loved taking his grandchildren fishing. Jim could always be found spending time with his friends and family because his family was very important to him. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Covington, Oklahoma. Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all that knew him. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the CovingtonDouglas Memorial Gymnasium, Covington, Oklahoma. Rev. Ruth Atterberry will officiate. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to CovingtonDouglas Booster Club in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Jim is survived by his wife Linda of the home seven children, James Donald Postier, Midge Marie Postier both of Covington, Oklahoma, Lisa Michele Postier of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Michael Plez Postier of Covington, Oklahoma, Mark Stauch of Kansas City, Kansas, Jason Lee Postier and Jessica Roselin Postier both of Covington, Oklahoma one sister Glenda Marie Barnes of Enid, Oklahoma fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Velma one daughter, Carley Anita Postier Jimenez one sister, Joyce Ann Phelps one grandson, Thomas Wayne Hogue.
