Joseph Millsap, 58 of Perry passed away on Monday, January 9 at his residence. He was formerly of California and had attended Junior College in Austin, TX
He was very passionate in helping people regardless of their need. This was evident in his life's work. He was a former senior staff member at the Mustard Seed Ranch and had worked as the House Manager for Alpha 2 Recovery Center in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. He too had been involved in offering help with his servant heart at Celebrate Recovery held at the Nazarene Church in Perry. At the time of his death, he was the Program Director for Overcoming through the Crisis (OTC) of Perry.
Joseph was known as one who loved all he came in contact with, especially the children with whom he would interact through his work at 12 Baskets Food Distribution through his church, Kaw Street Chapel of Perry. He loved to read his Bible and would often be seen writing down Scripture that had special meaning to him.
He loved horses and often spent time with Calamity Jane and Misty who survive him. He is also survived by a son, Joseph Conan Millsap of Colorado Springs, CO.
Services for Mr. Millsap will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Kaw Street Chapel where he was a member. Friends may gather at the church one hour prior to the services. Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry has been entrusted with the services.
