Judith “Judy” Carrol Patak (Russell), 83, of Garber, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, at Integris Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on July 28, 1942, in Perry, Oklahoma, Judy was the daughter of Elizabeth “Libby” Russell and Walter “Jiggs” Russell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ronald Russell, and her daughter, Adele Laing.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Patak; her children: son Devon Clark and his wife Julie of Boise, Idaho, and Amber Koehn of Newton, Kansas; her stepchildren: Charla Seeliger and her husband Jeff of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Michael Patak and his wife Billie of Perry, Oklahoma. She was the proud grandmother of April Crabtree (Wichita, KS), Mallory Clark, Joshua Clark, and Sophie Clark (all of Boise, ID), Madison Hershberger, Elijah Koehn, and Stella Linn (all of Newton, KS), Damien Crombie (Oklahoma City, OK), as well as Allison Kindred of Sanford, Florida, Michaela Seeliger of Saint Louis, Missouri, and Brandon Patak of Perry, Oklahoma. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren. Judy also leaves behind her beloved dog, Hope, who was never far from her side.
To know Judy was to know the truest form of unconditional love. She dedicated her life to her family, and nothing brought her greater joy than being a mother and grandmother. Her home was a place of open arms, warm meals, and the kind of comfort only she could give. Judy’s strength and resilience were unmatched- life handed her more than her fair share of hardships, yet she met each one with grace, grit, and unwavering belief in what mattered most.
Judy will be remembered as warm, genuine, and deeply loving- the kind of person who made others feel comfortable just by being near. She had a calm, steady presence and a way of making people feel cared for and safe.
A visitation will be held at Brown-Dugger funeral home in Garber, Oklahoma on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 11:00am to 6:00pm, with family present from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Garber, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at the Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Perry.
In honor of Judy’s life, donations may be made to the First Christian Church of Garber, Oklahoma, where she was a devoted member for years.
