Larry Alden Rupp, 78, of Tonkawa, OK, went to be with his Lord on December 28th. Larry was born in Lucien, OK, on July 9, 1940. His parents were Henry Jacob Rupp and Marie Amelia Rilling Rupp. He graduated Sumner HS 1958 in Sumner, OK, and completed an associate degree at OSU in Diesel Mechanics. Larry had 3 siblings, Melvern (Sam), Delmar & Rena.
At his death, Larry was employed by Billings Public School, and a retiree of Northern Oklahoma College. On May 27, Larry married Judy Kay Tautfest, and they have celebrated 57 years of marriage. Larry and Judy raised five sons and he is survived by Kelly Rupp, Tonkawa, OK, Kerby Rupp & wife Shauna, Kingfisher, OK, Kory Rupp & wife Marnita, Covington, OK, Kacy Rupp, U.S. Navy, & wife T.J., Chicago, IL, Kody Rupp, & wife Emilie Broken Arrow. Larry had 14 grandchildren Darrin & Dustan Rupp, Jacob Rupp & Jessica Rupp Meyer, Kandis, Byron, & Riley Rupp, Breannen & Sabastian Rupp, Kiley, Jordan, Joey, & Ava. Larry has four great grand children, and sister, Rena Carrier, Stillwater, OK.
Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, two siblings, & a granddaughter, Dakota Kay.
Larry had a gift to make people laugh, and a contagious smile. He always greeted people by their name, and never met a stranger. Larry loved old country and gospel music. He had a reputation for his beautiful voice, and he spent much time singing gospel songs when he had the opportunity. He was also a member of the Billings school board and taught Sunday school for many years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be mailed to Dugger Funeral Home Billings, in C/O Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077, in memory of Larry Rupp; all donations will be forwarded to the NOC Nursing Program in Larry's name.
Services have been entrusted to the Dugger Funeral Home in Billings OK. A public viewing will held at the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, in Perry on Jan 1, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, and at Billings High School, January 2, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 2nd at the Billings High School auditorium.
