Lillie Brokop

March 31, 1924 — October 11, 2012

Lillie Brokop, 88, of Perry, Oklahoma, was born on March 31, 1924 in Sumner, Oklahoma and passed away on October 11, 2012 at Green Valley Nursing Home, Perry, Oklahoma where in her final hours she was surrounded by family and friends. Lillie was the daughter of E.R. and Theo Bieberdorf Brokop. Lillie was a lifelong resident of Perry, Oklahoma and she graduated from Sumner High School in April 1942. She worked as a telephone operator with Bell Telephone Company. Lillie retired from the telephone company after 35 years of employment, where she missed only one day of work due to a bridge being out between Stillwater and Perry. Lillie was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church, where she throughout the years taught Childrens Sunday school and worked during Vacation Bible School. She was actively involved in womens ministry and served as church treasurer. It was said by one of her former students that they would not even think about going to Lillies Sunday School Class without knowing their bible verses. Her favorite song was Jesus Loves Me. Lillie felt that is was very important for even little children to understand about her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Pastor Dan Thimell will officiate. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Perry, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home.
