LOIS MARIE WOODRUFF


Lois Marie Woodruff, age 95 of Garber, Oklahoma passed away Friday, September 9, 20116 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma.

Family Gathering will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Dugger Funeral Home in Garber, Oklahoma. Friends may leave online condolences at www.brown-duggerfuneralhome.com.

The family has suggested memorials to the American Heart Association and contributions may be left at the Dugger Funeral Home in Garber, Oklahoma.

Lois Marie Woodruff was born February 19, 1921 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Jonas Otto and Maggie Myrtle (Brake) Rainwater. She was raised in Wewoka area graduating from the 8th grade in McCook, Texas in 1934. Family worked as migrant farm workers harvesting cotton, fruits and vegetables from Texas to Washington.

Lois married Walter Leon Bailey and he later preceded her in death. She later married Wallace Woodruff who also preceded her in death. Lois lived in Wewoka, Oklahoma, Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Waukomis, Oklahoma from 1940-1961, East Nebraska City, Iowa 1961-1962, Mesa, Arizona 1962-1963, Enid, Oklahoma 1963 -1971 before moving to Garber, Oklahoma from 1971 to 1975. She went back to school and graduated from the Garber High School and was the Class of 1973 Salutatorian and was the owner of Woody's Drive Inn 1971-1973. She lived in Booneville, Arkansas from 1975-1978 before moving to Silver City, New Mexico from 1978-1991. Where she attended NM State University and the Bible College graduating in 1985. Lois traveled to Israel in 1985. Worked as an accountant for a plumbing and air conditioning contractor for 13 years retiring in 1991. 1991 Lois returned to Garber, Oklahoma.

Survivors include one son Ervin Bailey of Silver City, New Mexico; three daughters Fern Bodle of Garber, Oklahoma, Doris Foresteri of The Village, Florida, and Tish (Frank) Camporeale of Mechanicsville, Virginia; 14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters, one son Chet Woodruff, one daughter Emma Jean Woodruff, two sons-in-law Larry E. Bodle and Joe Foresteri, one daughter-in-law Pat Bailey, and one grandson Larry Joe Bodle.

Lois loved to sew and learn and her favorite quote was "I plan to live to 120 but if don't make it just say "Bless Her Lord, She did the best she could."
