Lucile Stowers

December 20, 1931 — September 8, 2023

Lucile Marie Stowers, 91, of Lamont, OK has entered the kingdom of heaven.  She was born on December 20, 1931 in Garber, OK to George Otto and Marie Charlotte (Goedeke) Kroll.  She attended a small school in the country near Garber graduating in 1948.  She met and married the love of her life, Wiley August Stowers.  On July 9 of 1950 they were joined in holy matrimony.  The very church where she said goodbye to her husband is the church we will lay her to rest in this Saturday.  They were very happily married for over 71 years.

Lucile attended college in Winfield, KS and later worked as a teacher in Texas for two years.  She worked as a farmer and rancher her entire married life.  They planted alfalfa and wheat, harvested and baled crops. She lived her dream of being a farmer’s wife and loved every minute of it.  Even the hard times are sweet memories now.  She was a devoted wife and mother and was especially fond of her grandchildren.  Her favorite past time was spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Marie, husband Wiley, daughter Veldeena Stowers, brother Dean Kroll, and brother Gene Kroll.

She leaves behind to mourn her loss son David Stowers of North Carolina, daughter Rita Browning and her husband Terry of Lawton, son Gary Stowers and his wife Joyce of El Reno, grandchildren: Shandra Williamson and her husband Thomas of North Carolina, Eric Stowers of North Carolina, Brian Browning and his wife Kim of Florida, Jason Browning and his wife Lisa of Lawton, Michael Browning and his wife Heather of awaii, Cache, Kyle Stowers and his wife Megan of Tuttle, Kris Stowers and his wife Brittany of Blanchard, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, brother Johnnie Kroll and sister Luella Stacey.

Friends are invited to the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Garber,  601 Arapaho Street,  on Saturday September 23, 2023, from 12:30-1:30 before the celebration of her life for a time of viewing and fellowship.  The Celebration of Lucile’s Life will begin at 1:30 on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Garber.  Minister Mark Hein will officiate.  Casket Bearers for the service will include: Brian Browning, Jason Browning, Michael Browning, Eric Stowers, Kyle Stowers, Kris Stowers, and Shandra Williamson.  Honorary bearers will include Robert Blaser, Jimmy Blaser, and Mike Stowers.
