Marvin Bright

June 28, 1935 — November 29, 2020

Marvin Lee Bright, 85, of Perry, Oklahoma was born on June 28th, 1935 at home near Ralston, Oklahoma. Marvin went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 29th, 2020. The only son of Clifford Young Bright and Anna Alice Kistler Bright he was raised to be a hard worker. Soon after high school, he joined the United States Army. He proudly served his country as an infantryman out of Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Marvin served overseas from 1954 until 1957 where he earned the rank of Sergeant (E-5). Marvin loved to work with his hands. He was a talented cabinet maker and builder. If one knows where to look, there are still several examples of his work around Perry. Marvin was a devoted husband and father, beloved grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Liz Chrz and her husband Leon of Perry, son Marvin Bright II and his wife Elona of Norman, daughter Cathy Bright of Delaware, daughter Nicole Clavin and her husband Jon of Perry, son Jesse Bright of Perry, grandchildren: Ashley Heath and her husband Terence Vester of Perry, Oren Clavin of Perry, Cassandra Bright of Delaware, Marvin (Trae) Bright III of Perry, Ross Bright of Durant, Wayne Burris II and his wife Tanya of Texas, and Melissa Burris of Stillwater. Also, surviving are his eight great grandchildren, sister Beverly Funkhouser, sister Linda Warnock, and her husband Paul, brother-in-law Ronnie Hamann and his wife Sandy and best friend Moe Jerome and his wife Shirley of Perry. Marvin was reunited in heaven with his parents Clifford and Anna, wife Barbara, grandson Colby Bright, grandson Austin Clavin, and brother-in-law Carl Funkhouser. The family would like to recognize as honorary bearers, Moe Jerome, Jon Clavin, Jesse Bright, Oren Clavin,  Marvin Bright II,  Leon Chrz, Wayne Burris II, Trae Bright and, Ross Bright. Marvin’s family wants to thank the community for all your love and support during this difficult time.
