Melody Beier Campbell Johnson, former resident of Perry, has gone to be with the Lord. She was only 64 years young. She was born on May 22, 1956 in Perry to Rudolph Lawrence Beier and his wife Dorsie Thompson Beier. She attended high school at Morrison where she played basketball and was an active member of the FFA. After graduating in the spring of 1974, Melody moved to Oklahoma City and attended business school. She made her home in Edmond where she raised her daughter, Marcia. For many years, it was just her and her daughter. They really learned to lean on each other and had a very very close and special relationship. Melody was a loving mother, a hard worker and a devoted volunteer. She worked at a local cable company for many years before beginning a rewarding career at Dell. It was there that she really bloomed. She was promoted to call center manager where she smoothly supervised a large group. She was very active in the Relay for Life movement of the American Cancer Society. She even wrote a stop smoking program for the ACS entitled “Kicking Butts.” She enjoyed cooking for her family with a German flair. Her recipes were well known by the grandkids as the best in town. A great spoiler of grandkids, she always had cookies in the house and hosted many tea parties. The last few years of her life were filled with smiles. It was just seven months ago that she married the love of her life, Ricky D Johnson. She was planning her future and retirement with Rick who spoiled Melody with her every desire. He called her his “little German angel baby doll.”
Melody is survived by her husband Ricky Johnson of the home, daughter Marcia Simpson and her husband Bobby of Edmond, granddaughter Aubrey Berruto and her husband Jeremy of Oklahoma City, granddaughter Mallory Simpson and grandson Campbell Simpson, of Edmond, brother Randy Beier and his wife Vikki of Perry, nephew Brock Campbell of Woodward, and brother-in-law Mike Stodola of Perry.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Cheryl Stodola.
