Mildred Schovanec

Mildred Schovanec, 94, of Newalla, Oklahoma. She was born March 17, 1918 in Czechoslovakia and died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at McLoud Nursing Center, McLoud, Oklahoma. She married her friend and sweetheart, James Joseph Schovanec on April 21, 1936 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bison, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1978. Mildred enjoyed crocheting, knitting and cooking but most of all spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 25, 2013 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bison, Oklahoma. Father Joseph H. Arledge will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Hennessey, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to Catholic charities in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Mildred is survived by three daughters, Bernice Bailey of Newalla, Oklahoma, Eileen Davis of Cumming, Georgia and Joan McClendon of Farris, Oklahoma two sons, Pete Schovanec and Jim Schovanec both of Perry, Oklahoma fourteen grandchildren several greatgrandchildren and numerous great greatgrandchildren She is preceded in death by her husband, James her parents one son, Leroy Schovanec two grandchildren, Andy Davis and Angel Lancaster.
