Norma Poulter

April 30, 1931 — January 1, 2015

A celebration of life for Norma J. Poulter will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m., January 6, 2015 in the First Baptist Church in Garber, Oklahoma with Tom LeGrand officiating. Burial will follow in the Garber Cemetery under the direction of the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Garber. A visitation with family will be Monday, January 5, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Garber.

Casket bearers are Craig Cunningham, Chad Cunningham, Chuck Cunningham, Corey Cunningham, Russell Brewer, Mike Abney, Luke Draffin, Steve Muns Jr and Derek Neef. Honorary casket bearers are Bobby Hunt, Porter Cunningham, Chase Cunningham, Jordan Anson, Dallas Hunt, Brennan Vickers and Austin Aishman.

Norma passed this life on January 1, 2015. Norma was the daughter of Fred Barton and Dora Parks and born in Oil Hill, Kansas on April 30, 1931. She married Allen Poulter Jr. on October 28, 1948 in Great Bend, Kansas. They had 66 glorious years together.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and active as Sunday school teacher and director of the kitchen activities. She worked at Moody's for 9 years and retired in 1995 as a Garber School custodian. She loved being around people and children. Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren.

She loved attending basketball games and voiced her opinion to the refs. She bowled several years and had many trophies for her accomplishments.

Survivors include her husband, Allen of Greenbrier Nursing Home in Enid; daughters Carol Trekell of Garber, Nancy Cunningham of Enid, Tricia and husband Steve, of Garber, Jackie Roe, of Garber; brother Rodney Barton and wife Vera of Long Beach, California; sister-in-law Joanne Barton in Harp, Kansas. She has 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Valeta and four brothers, Don, Jack, Jerry and George Barton. A granddaughter Stephanie Hunt and grandson Jeremy Hunt; two son-in-laws, Bobby Cunningham and Terry Trekell.
