Richard Tessman

Richard Kenneth Tessmann, 75, of Perry, Oklahoma formerly of Stillwater, Oklahoma was the son of Seigfreid R. and Veda Claire Shrock Tessmann. He was born May 9, 1938 in Solomon, Kansas and died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Perry, Oklahoma. He graduated from Solomon High School in 1956 and went on to earn his BS, MS and PhD degrees from Oklahoma State University in Mechanical Engineering. Richard was a registered Professional Engineer in Oklahoma. Richard married his best friend and sweetheart, Barbara L. Gould on February 14, 1958 at the First Christian Church in Perry, Oklahoma. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, golf, bowling, roping and was known to be a good overall sportsman. He loved spending time and visiting with his family and friends. The family wishes to thank the Perry Home Health doctors, nurses and support staff for their caring, love and support during this difficult time. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the First Christian Church, 411 W. Matthews Ave, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Richard is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home son, Mike Tessmann and his wife, Vickie of Perry, Oklahoma daughterinlaw, Janet Tessmann of Pawnee, Oklahoma sister, Joan Roberts of Solomon, Kansas niece, Capitola Sutherland of Ft. Riley, Kansas nephew, James Roberts of Phoenix, Arizona six grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Seigfreid and Veda Tessmann and one son Douglas Wayne Tessmann.
