Robert Glen Gammon of Oklahoma City has passed away.  He was 84 years old.  He was born in Cherokee, Oklahoma the son of Glen and Mildred Harris Gammon.  Raised there in Cherokee he attended schools there graduating high school in the spring of 1954.  After high school he attended Northern Oklahoma College.  Robert earned his bachelor’s degree from Austin College in Sherman, Texas.  Robert was a gifted athlete who excelled at basketball. He played in high school as well as college.  While at NOC he attained the High Score Record for most points in a game.  When he was older, he coached basketball as well as swimming.

After high school, Robert married his sweetheart, Wanda Wofford.  From this union came nine children.  It was on September 23, 1978 then he met and married the love of his life, Shirley Gammon of Billings.  From this union, Robert gained a stepdaughter and stepson.

Robert was an entrepreneur.  He owned and operated a successful fencing business in and around Oklahoma City.  His work was exemplary, he was always a stickler for details.  He stayed busy and worked hard to provide for his family.

Robert loved sports, whether it was watching, playing, cheering for the grandkids.  But most of all, he loved golf.  It was his true passion.  The sunrise over the course, the sound of teeing off, the challenge of the greens.  The golf course was his happy place.  He also enjoyed fishing, from the bank, from a boat or on top of the ice with the boys, fishing was always a good idea to Robert.  Quite the outdoorsman, he took trips to Colorado to fish, hunted deer and birds.  He would even occasionally take bird dogs out with the shotgun.

He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Mildred, and his wife Shirley.

HE leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Terrie Gammon of Wisconsin, daughter Tracey and her husband Anthony Capers of Minnesota, son Robert Gammon, Jr. and his wife Kory of Tennessee, daughter Jacki and her husband Jay Nelson of Florida, daughter Jennifer and her husband Mike Kanitz of Minnesota, daughter Tricia and her husband Wayne Hull of Florida, Son Mike and his wife Leah Gammon of Wisconsin, son Pat and his wife Amy Gammon of Minnesota, son Dereck and his wife Nicole Gammon of South Dakota, Daughter Kay and her husband Scott Ranney of Billings, son Lee Wagoner of Billings, twenty-one grandkids, seven great grandkids, brother Don and his wife Bev Gammon of Arizona as well  as a large extended family.  Of special mention is his 11-year companion “Missy” the dog.
