Robert Earnest “Bobby” Norton, 74, passed away peacefully in his home in the early morning hours of August 16, 2026.
Bobby was born on November 7, 1951, in Lamesa, Texas, to Robbie Sadler Norton and Ellen Jandera. He graduated from Perry High School in 1970 and shortly after graduation proudly joined the military in 1971, serving until his honorable discharge in 1974.
On September 3, 1982, Bobby married the love of his life, Dorothy Jean Williams, in Montpelier, Idaho. Together, they shared 44 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, and countless memories. Bobby dedicated 35 years of his working life to Ditch Witch before retiring in 2020. He was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for and caring for his family. In his free time, Bobby enjoyed cheering on OU football, fishing, racing, barbecuing, and reading. Most of all, he treasured spending time with his family. He will be remembered for the love he had for those around him and the many memories he created with the people he loved.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Ellen and Robbie Norton; his brother, Arthur Frank Norton; his daughter, Rachelle Pickens; and his grandson, Colton Brice.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 44 years, Dorothy; his children, Rebecca Brice and husband Rich of Wyoming, Brent Norton and wife Michelle of Perry, Tosha Green and husband Al of Augusta, Arkansas, and Artie Norton and wife Amanda of Perry; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and loved ones who will miss him dearly.
Bobby’s life was defined by family, hard work, and the simple joys he found in the things and people he loved. Though he is deeply missed, his memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the generations of family he leaves behind.
Rest in peace, Bobby. You will be loved and missed always.
