Roger Alan Swartz, a loving farmer and cherished member of the Perry community, passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2025,

With a career steeped in the rhythms of farming, Roger grew wheat with hands accustomed to the feel of the earth and the power of the mighty tractors that pulled across the fields. He was not just a farmer; he was an artist of the land, combining and cutting wheat with an unmatched fervor and skill. His beloved John Deere tractors stood as symbols of his life's work, testament to the hard labor and rewards of his farming endeavors

Roger's life was not solely defined by his work; it was a tapestry woven from the threads of family and friendships. He shared his life with Karen Yunker, his devoted life partner, who stood by his side through every season of growth and harvest. Roger was a proud stepfather to Michael Hobbs, who resides in Perry, and to Brittany Beier and her husband Donnie and family, who hail from Ponca City. His legacy continues through family—including brothers Phillip Swartz and his wife Barbara, and Larry Swartz of Perry, along with a multitude of nieces and nephews who will hold onto the memories of their joyful times together.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Alvin Swartz, and his mother, Arlene JoAnne Jirous, whose influence shaped him into the man he became. He mourned the loss of his brother Robert Swartz, along with the memory of two nieces.

Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Roger's life during a visitation with family at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry on July 22, 2025, Tues from 5 PM to 7 PM. The following day, July 23, 2025, a graveside service will take place at Grace Hill Cemetery Wed at 2 PM, providing a serene setting for loved ones to pay their respects.
