Ruby Kirchner

October 10, 1922 — June 25, 2013

Ruby Maxine Koch Kirchner, 90, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, formerly of Perry, Oklahoma was the daughter of Harry Earl and Bertha Mae Cawood Koch. She was born October 10, 1922 in Potter Community in rural Garfield County, Oklahoma and died Tuesday, June 26, 2013 at Westhaven Nursing Home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Ruby attended Stanton School and Hayward High School. In 1946 she and her family moved to Perry, Oklahoma where she was selfemployed as a babysitter for many of the local families. Ruby also cared for her parents until they both passed away and then she married, Donald R. Kirchner who was a family neighbor on January 4, 1986 at the Presbyterian Church in Perry, Oklahoma. She resided south of Perry until November 2003 when she moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma. Don preceded her in death on August 7, 1994. She enjoyed working in the family garden where people would come to her parents house to buy produce. Ruby and her father built a playground for all of the grandchildrennieces and nephews and during the Cherokee Strip Celebration they would always come have dinner and play. Once she married Don they enjoyed going to the Oklahoma State University Alumni parties and Oklahoma State University sporting events in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Ruby will be remembered for her hard work and love that she gave not only to her family but also to her friends. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church, in Perry, Oklahoma. Pastor Craig Gibson will officiate. Interment will be at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Ruby is survived by her one sister, Bonnie Roberts of Perry, Oklahoma six nieces and nephews, DeAnn Hafner and her husband, Johnny of Orlando, Oklahoma, Jean Nealis and her husband, Tom of Enid, Oklahoma, Gary Koch and his wife, Gloria of Orlando, Oklahoma, Cleta Simms of Perry, Oklahoma, J. D. Koch of Perry, Oklahoma and Sue Klingaman of Mulhall, Oklahoma special friends, Jerald and Diane Baldwin and family. She was preceded in death by husband, Don Kirchner both parents, Harry and Bertha Koch brother, Sylvan Koch infant brother, Melvin Koch.
