Thelma Anna Grimshaw Muir, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 28, 2013 in Edmond, Oklahoma. Beloved wife of the late David R. Muir Sr. for 62 years, and devoted mother of Suzanne Lundy and her husband, Wayne, David Muir Jr. and his wife, Robin and Donald Muir and close friend, Jo Rush. Also survived by dear sister Shirley Williams and brother John Grimshaw. She was the loving grandmother of six and great grandmother of seven. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Brainard and Madeline Grimshaw. Thelma graduated High School at Glenolden, Pennsylvania and the Nursing School at Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia. She valued her family, faith and friends. Thelma was a proud lifelong Presbyterian who loved and enjoyed people. She enjoyed all types of music and entertaining. She will be remembered by all for her good sense of humor and generosity. Dave and Thelma lived in Oklahoma and Michigan and settled in Perry, Oklahoma enjoying a rural retirement. She loved every part of her life and was grateful for every lifestyle from city to country. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1408 N 7th, Perry, Oklahoma. Pastor Dan Beachy will officiate assisted by Rev. Craig Gibson. Interment will be a private family service. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the Mercy Hospice, The First Presbyterian Church of Perry or a charity of your choice in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077.
