Vernon Edward Roberts, resident of Orlando, Oklahoma, completed his earthly journey, on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in Perry, Oklahoma. Vernon was born in Enid, Oklahoma on January 26, 1945 to parents George Franklin and Bonnie Marie (McIntyre) Roberts.
Vernon graduated high school from Orlando and proved his worth of many talents during his years of employment at Ditch Witch, owning his own furniture outlet and as an aircraft refueler in the aviation industry. Vernon has lived around these parts, such as Perry, Covington Waukomis, and Orlando for a lifetime.
Vernon loved to piddle around, have coffee in the early hours of the morning with his longtime friends, work on his tractor and even took up the skill of being an auctioneer as a hobby.
The comfort of his memory will be forever cherished, in the hearts of his family, as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Vernon is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joyce Roberts, his sons Timothy Roberts and wife Christie, and Michael Paul Roberts. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, TJ Roberts, Tanner Roberts, Haley Adams, Makayla Adams, Tinley Roberts, and Hudson Roberts, and 1 brother Clyde Roberts.
Vernon is preceded in death by 1 son Bart Allen Roberts, parents George and Bonnie Roberts, and siblings Ben Roberts, Doyle Roberts, and Anita Chestnut.
Services are entrusted to Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Ok. A visitation is scheduled to have "Coffee with Vernon one last time" on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 4:00pm-8:00pm. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00pm, Monday, April 1 at Morris Heights Cemetery.
