Virginia Tunis

Virginia L. Tunis, 80, of Garber, Oklahoma was the daughter of Elmer and Minnie Ellen Lambert Sowles. She was born April 28, 1932 in Roxanne, Oklahoma and died Thursday, January 17, 2013 in Enid, Oklahoma. Virginia enjoyed crocheting, sewing and spending time with her kids, grandkids, greatgrandkids and friends. She married her sweetheart, Charles Eugene Tunis on November 12, 1949 in Covington, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Covington First Baptist Church in Covington, Oklahoma. Rev. Jody Schmidt will officiate. Interment will be in Garber Cemetery in Garber, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home in Garber, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation in care of Dugger Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Garber, Oklahoma 73738. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at Dugger Funeral Home, Garber, Oklahoma. Virginia is survived by her husband, Charles one son, Alan and his wife, Carol four daughters, Cathy and her husband, Derle, Donna, Sharon and Janet and her husband, John eleven grandchildren, Alicia, Christie, Brandi, Jimmy, Michael, Steven, Stephanie, Matthew, Jennie, Megan and Josie two sisters, Lela and Marthella fourteen great grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Minnie four brothers, George, Ronald, Glen and Melburn four sisters, Myrtle, Nina, Mabel and Ilene.
