Vivian Alieen Roots Ankle, 77, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Faye Otto and Lyda Margaret Rogers Roots. She was born March 21, 1937 in Atwood, Kansas, and passed away on April 10, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Vivian graduated from Atwood Community High School class of 1956. After graduation, she attended beauty academy. Vivian married David Ankle on August 17, 1957 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood, Kansas. To this union, two daughters were born Sybil and Clarinda. David and Vivian were married for 56 years. After completing classes at the beauty academy, Vivian worked as a beautician for eight years. She won several hair modeling awards with her stylist. With the birth of her first daughter, Vivian became a stay at home mother. She did so for eighteen years. During this time, from August 1985 ndash May 2000, she also worked at the Perry High School cafeteria. Vivian was very musically talented. She played many instruments including violin, trombone, accordion and piano. Vivian found joy in cooking, sewing and working in her yard. She volunteered at the museum and loved to ball room dance. Vivian was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and Altar Society. Her greatest joy was her grandkids. Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Reverend Mariyanandam Mario Pulugujju will officiate. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Vivian is survived by two daughters, Sybil Rahn and her husband, Glen, of Perry, Oklahoma, and Clarinda Rackley, and her husband Cameron of Stillwater, Oklahoma two sisters, Alma Winget of Jetmore, Kansas, and Stella Dowell of Ponca City, Oklahoma and six grandchildren, Jerrica Bullock and her husband, Scotty, of Perry, Oklahoma, Nathanael Rackley, Victoria Rackley, Margaret Rackley of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Rachel Rahn and Dakota Rahn both of Perry She was preceded in death by her parents, Faye and Lydia sisters, Georgia Anna Allen, Artaxa Riemer and one brother, Daniel Roots.
