Wanda Lou Varner, 83, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Martin Ervin and Jewel Bernice Boggs King. She was born on March 23, 1928 in Little, Oklahoma and died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Wanda graduated from high school and married her first husband Earl Stanton Adams. Earl preceded Wanda in death. She then married her best friend Roy V. Varner on January 29, 1989 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Wanda enjoyed sewing, gardening and traveling in her R.V., but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the University Baptist Church of Shawnee where she spent many hours volunteering her time. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Good Sam Camping Club. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Brother Aaron Summers will officiate. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Blackwell Cemetery in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home of Perry, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Perry in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th, Perry, Oklahoma. Wanda is survived by her husband Roy V. Varner of Shawnee, Oklahoma one son, Larry S. Adams of Midland, Texas one daughter, Janet Brand and her husband, Ted of Perry, Oklahoma one brother, Jack King and his wife, Gala of Midland, Texas two grandchildren, Kyle Stanton Adams of Midland, Texas and Greg Stanton Williams and his wife, Lara of Tulsa, Oklahoma five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Adams both of her parents one sister, Juanita Jackson.
