Wanita M. McGuar, 89, of Perry, Oklahoma formerly of Glencoe, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Everett and Edith Peterman Humphrey. She was born November 7, 1923 in Hillsdale, Oklahoma and died on Monday, August 5, 2013 at Green Valley Nursing Home, Perry, Oklahoma. She married her best friend and sweetheart, L.J. Bud McGuar on November 1, 1943 in Fairview, Oklahoma. Wanita enjoyed bottle feeding baby calves and fishing in farm ponds but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her dogs. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Wagon Wheel Square Dance Club in Stillwater for forty three years. Wanita was a member of the First Baptist Church in Glencoe. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Pastor Irvin Haken will officiate. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of BrownDugger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association in care of BrownDugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077. Wanita is survived by her cousin, Randy and Dian McGuar of Perry, Oklahoma and their children, Rani McGuar and Erik Woodard of Edmond, Oklahoma, Kali and Kyle Hughey of Perry, Oklahoma close family friend, Mike and Beth Coomer of Glencoe, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.J. Bud McGuar her parents, and two brothers Max and Loren Humphrey one sister Sue Low.
