William Wendell Washabaugh Sr. passed from this life surrounded by his loving family on February 07, 2020 in Mulvane, Kansas. William was a high school graduate of Velma-Alma High School in Stephens County Oklahoma. After high school, Willam was drafted into the Army and served his country honorably for 4 years, earning recognition from his superior officers for excellent achievement. He spent several years in the oilfield supply industry and later went to work at Boeing Aircraft Company in Washington and then in Wichita. William always enjoyed fishing for catfish while listening to baseball and eating peanuts from the shell. His favorite places to fish were Lake Fuqua in Oklahoma and Winfield Lake in Kansas. In his younger years, he could be found listening to Texas Rangers baseball while fishing, but was a Los Angeles Dodgers fan at heart. William is survived by his son William Jr. (Robyn) of Kansas, daughters Sandy (Ross) of Indiana and Kristi (John) of Washington, grandson Thayer, and granddaughters Jillian and Ava. Sister Judy (Oran) of Arkansas, Brother Albert (Gay) Washington and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father John Curtis Washabaugh, Mother and Stepfather Grace and Ralph VanBebber, brothers John and Jim, and sister Delores. Visitation will be Thursday, February 13 and Friday, February 14 from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Services will be held Saturday, February 15 at 10:00 am at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. William will then be laid to rest at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry.
