Ann Stadler

August 3, 1949 — December 21, 2020

Perry

Charle “Ann" (Newman) Stadler, 71, most proudly called Mom and Nana, passed peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2020, at her home in Perry, OK, surrounded by family.
She was born in Oklahoma City, OK on August 3, 1949 to Edwin Royce Newman and Esther Lorraine (Nicholson) Heinrich.  She was raised right here in Perry, OK and attended Perry Public Schools.  She waitressed in numerous restaurants and cafes and was very active in the nursing field in her younger years.  As she got older, she devoted most of her time to taking care of things at home and became a housewife.  In 1980 she met the love of her life, Melvin Chestnut.  The couple enjoyed 40 years of bliss until her passing.
She raised one son and two daughters with love and patience.  She taught her children to always do their best and was always there for them no matter what.  She loved helping others and took pride in her family, always putting them first.
Ann collected music boxes and 'whatnots', loved dogs and loved trying her luck at the casino. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting blankets, working puzzles and was a studious genealogy researcher.  She was a member of the Rootseekers Genealogy Society and spent many hours researching the history of Perry families.  Ann and Melvin enjoyed driving to numerous rural Noble County cemeteries for research.  They spent countless hours walking these cemeteries to document burial location and birth/death date information for every grave.  She and her mom also selflessly walked the Grace Hill Cemetery mapping out the locations of every grave.
Ann took great pride in her genealogy research.  In 1994, she published a family history book titled, "The Family of Mathew and Sarah Chestnut and Descendants" and a cemetery book that contained burial information for all 28 rural cemeteries in Noble County, OK.  In 1995, she published another cemetery book that contained burial information for Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, OK.  The cemetery books were made available for purchase and a copy of each was donated to the local library.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edwin Newman and Esther Heinrich, husband Howard Wayne Seal, Sr., and husband Donald R. Clark.
She leaves behind to mourn her loss, her husband, Melvin Chestnut of the home, son Howard Wayne Seal, Jr. of Tulsa, daughter Cherie Ann Cowan and her husband Ryan of Perry, daughter Shanell Denise McNabb of Perry, granddaughters Amara Dane Cowan, Chloe Brenae McNabb, Courtney Rae Cowan and Emma Elyse McNabb.  She also leaves her brother Gary Prior of Oklahoma, numerous nieces and nephews as well as a large extended family.  Of honorable mention are five special furry friends who will forever miss her: Lacy, Cupid, Bandit, Minnie May, and Patches.
The family would like to sincerely thank Companion Hospice of Guthrie, OK for their exceptional care and management, allowing Ann to live out her final months at home surrounded by family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
