Darla Sorenson

March 21, 1961 — December 7, 2022

Marshall

Darla Inselman-Sorenson, 61, sadly passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, after a difficult battle with ALS. She was surrounded by her three daughters when she entered into her final rest.

Darla was born on March 21, 1961 to John and Donna Inselman. After high school, Darla attended Oklahoma State University, and has since been an avid fan of its sports programs. No matter where she was, she bled orange and black. She spent much of her life working in financing and budgeting for multiple companies over the years. She was dedicated to her career and had many accomplishments. She was known and loved by many who worked with and alongside her.

Darla was a follower of Jesus, and trusted in the goodness of God throughout her sickness. She always saw God’s hand at work in the midst of the struggles she was going through. She placed her hope in the eternity that awaits her in Heaven. She never gave up believing God was with her no matter what she encountered.

Darla was a wonderful mother who was always there for her daughters. The love and care given to them has shaped who each of them are today. She always enjoyed seeing pictures and videos of her grandkids and the activities they were involved with. It always made her feel like she was part of what they were doing.

She deeply loved her big family and times when they were able to get together. She was a beloved friend to many, and was a well-loved member of the community of Lucien, OK, even when she moved away. She moved back to Perry, Oklahoma in the last year to be closer to her family.

She is preceded in death by her mother Donna Inselman.

Darla is survived by her three daughters, Stepheni (Chris), Kimberly (Nick), and Alexandra (Michael), her husband Troy and step-daughter Amanda, her father, her brothers and sisters, many cousins, as well as several grandchildren, and many more friends. She was always smiling, always appreciative, and always thankful. She will forever be missed.

Friends and family are welcome to stop by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry to sign her book and pay their respects after church on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 1 p.m. until 6p.m.  family will be present to receive fellowship from 3-5p.m.

Friends and family will gather together to celebrate her life at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022 at the Lucien Methodist Church.  Minister Lana Knott will officiate the service.  Pall bearers for the service will include John A. Inselman, Joe Bowman, Rick Inselman, Mike Inselman, Bob Henry, and David Baldwin.
