James Weir

February 24, 1939 — February 1, 2022

James Roy Weir of Tuttle, OK and lately of Perry, OK has gone to heaven, he was 82.  Roy was born on February 24, 1939 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was the son of William Robert Weir and Hester Edith Jordan Weir.  Raised and educated in Chickasha, OK, he graduated from High School there in 1957.  After graduation, he married the love of his life, Carolyn Francis Foster on August 22, 1959. Together they raised a son and shared many memories with grandkids for over 55 years until Carolyn’s death.  Roy served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964.  He then worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a police officer, then a pipefitter for the last 28 of his 37 years working at Tinker.  Roy was an outdoors man who spent a lot of time calling predators, as well as hunting turkey, deer and other big game animals.  He has quite a collection of firearms and mounted trophies from his hunts. He enjoyed reloading and making accurate handloads for each of his guns. He enjoyed fishing, camping, going to the lake, and scuba diving, especially for catfish. Probably his greatest joy was talking about and sharing pictures of all his hunting and fishing trips.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hester Weir, wife Carolyn Weir and brother-in-law Roger Foster.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son John Weir and his wife Theresa of Orlando, grandson Luke Weir and his fiancée Stacey Morgan of Orlando, granddaughter Ashley Sears and her husband Michael of Cashion, great grandchildren: Tatum Weir, Tayla Weir, Torrance Weir, Reagan Sears, and Ridge Sears, close friend Sherry Dimon of Perry, as well as sister-in-law Louise Foster.
