Mrs. Luella Jane Greene of Perry has gone to heaven. She was 98 years young. Luella was born in Maryville, Missouri to Lawrence Martin Charles and Mary Ann Freece Charles. She attended high school in Maryville where she graduated with her high school diploma. She worked as a telephone operator for 33 years. She married the love of her life, Kenneth R Greene in Reno, Nevada on August 19, 1970. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America Life as well Northwind Quilters Club in Fairfield, CA. She served as chairman of the Fairfield Senior Center Building Committee in California. Her hobbies included quilting, playing games, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her stepsons Kenneth Greene, Sr. and Richard Greene, stepdaughter Terry (Greene) Sundance, step grandchildren: Kenneth Greene Jr., Michael Greene, Daniel Greene, Del Sue Greene, and Scott Greene, step great grandchildren: Brandy Lee, Casey, Darsha, Amanda, Joshua, Matthew, Christopher, Tyler and Mason, sister Hilda Talbott and brother Darrell Charles as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents, Lawrence and Mary Ann, her husband Kenny Greene, brother William Charles, sister Velda Goin, brother James Charles, brother Raymond Charles, and brother Jesse Charles.
Friends are welcome to stop by Brown Dugger Funeral Home of Perry on Saturday October 8, 2022 from 10-2 for a time of fellowship and remembrance. Refreshments will be served. Luella will be laid to rest in California next to her dear husband.
