Ray Cinnamon

February 3, 1928 — June 27, 2022

Garber, Oklahoma

Ray Gene Cinnamon of Garber has gone home to be with his Lord.  He was only 94 years young.  He was born in Garber to Raymond and Eva Lucille (Miller) Cinnamon.  Raised on the family farm, he cared for Hampshire Hogs,  Angus cattle, did his chores and found time to play football in school.   He was on the State Championship winning team for football in 1944.  He also served as state FFA President in 1946. He was awarded National FFA Star Farmer of America in 1947.  He married the love of his life, Libby Marie Sebranek in April of 1947 at the First Christian Church of Garber. The same church where his family will say their final goodbyes. Throughout his life he was chosen as Deacon elder of the church and was chosen as church board president many times over the years.  He taught Adult Sunday School class, helped build the church  youth camp at Guthrie and helped remodel the interior of the church as well as the church windows.   It was this year, in April, that those two kids celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary.  Being raised on a farm, naturally the couple raised their kids the same way, even in the same house.  His children make the 4th generation to live in that centennial farmhouse.  He enjoyed planting and harvesting wheat and raising cattle.  Most of all he enjoyed spending quality time with his family.  The grandkids were the light of his life and you never saw a prouder husband.

Ray Gene had a close and personal relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard Cinnamon, daughter Donna Thralls and her husband Mike, sister Dorothy Edwards and her husband Leonard, sister-in-law Anna Brakage and her husband Willard, brother-in-law Frankie Sebranek, and brother-in-law Sonny Worth.

Ray Gene Leaves behind to mourn his loss his wife Libby of the home, son Eldon Cinnamon and his wife Paula of Perry, daughter Jean Surface and her husband Joe of Alva, daughter Nita Pope and her husband Ron of Olsburg, KS, daughter-in-law Jonni Cinnamon of Garber, 22 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter on the way, sister-in-law Marcella Mears and her husband Galen, sister-in-law Wilma Worth, Sister-in-law Joyce Sebranek as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
