Sharon Smith

Covington

Sharon Louise Smith of Covington has passed through the gates of heaven.  She was born on February 21, 1953 in Enid, OK the daughter of Vernon Powell and Vera Ivadee Sigman Powell.  After high school ,she met the love of her life, Atlee Smith and on February 17 , 1977 they were married.  They shared 44  happy years of marriage together. She raised three boys while working at the school as an aide.  She was a loving and devoted grandmother, a great cook, and enjoyed growing flowers.  She loved gardening and planting trees.  If you asked what her favorite flower was, she would say all of them.  She was also a gifted seamstress and enjoyed sewing in her spare time.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Curtis Powell, sister-in-law Linda Powell and two nephews Lance and Mike Powell.

She leaves behind to mourn her loss her husband Atlee of the home, son Kenny Smith and his wife Dione of Ponca City,  son Cory Smith and his wife Shiloh of Texas, son Shane Smith and his wife Brandi of Orlando, grandchildren: Tara Hicks and her husband Cody, Kyle Smith, Erica Smith, Bailey Smith, Karley Bowman and her husband Jake, and Shailey Smith .  Great grandchildren left behind include Paislee Hicks and Byrklee Hicks.  Also surviving are her brothers Marvin Powell and his wife Sheryl of Covington, Glen Powell of Wewoka, and Raymond Powell, of Texas as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Friends are welcome to stop by Brown Dugger Funeral Home of Perry on Friday (2/18) to sign her guest book from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.  and again on Saturday (2/19) from 10 am until 5 p.m.

A come and go Memorial Service will be held on Saturday (2/19) at the funeral home at 2 p.m. -3p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
